ESTATE ADMINISTRATION

Many family law matters do not require the assistance of the courts and can be resolved by direct dialogue. In this regard, we are happy to advise you and represent you in the negotiation and drafting of a separation agreement or other domestic contract.  If possible and appropriate, we strive to reduce conflict and tensions, and reach a quick and satisfactory resolution of the issues. If, however, the issues cannot be resolved by direct dialogue and negotiation, we are equally capable and prepared to pursue your interests in court.

We can assist you with your personal and financial goals with estate planning to ensure your wishes are followed upon your passing and in the event you are incapacitated.

In addition, if you have recently lost a loved one, we can assist you with administering the estate if you are the executor of the estate.  We can also advise you on your rights if you are a beneficiary or a dependent of an estate.

TEAM

Get to Know Us

CHRISTOPHER PARTON

Christopher Parton’s law firm is located in his hometown of Dundas.  In fact, his office is located precisely one block away from the home where he grew up.  Despite this seemingly short path, Chris has substantial personal and legal experience.  He previously worked as an infantry officer in the Canadian Armed Forces and he lived in Japan for five years before starting a career in law.  He practiced law in the United States and worked for both federal and state judges.  As an intern working in federal court he gained experience working on terrorist and organized crime matters.  He has practiced family law in New Hampshire and now established his law practice in Dundas, Ontario, focusing on family law and estate planning.

PHILIP DEHM

Philip Dehm is the newest addition to Parton Law.  He studied law in his home province of Quebec and spent a year working as a duty counsel lawyer in family court in Hamilton before entering private practice.  His primary area of expertise is in family law, both in court litigation and in negotiating and drafting private settlements.
